Classic Car Auto Insurance Questions

Classic / antique auto insurance in ny cheap?

Classic & antique auto insurance is always full coverage (based on the current value) & always very cheap. You will need a full time use vehicle for every driver in your household & the vehicle must not be driven more than 1500 miles per yr, mostly for shows, etc.
Try a local independent agent & see if they write with Condon & Skelly. They are my favorite for antique auto insurance.
Other companies (brokers actually) would be JCTaylor & Hagerty.

Is classic car insurance better for a 1984 corvette or regular car insurance?

I would go with the Classic Car Insurance because other wise you might not get as much as you want for your car if it is ever totaled or stolen. I know some classic car insurance is stated amount & regular insurance is ACV (Actual Cash Value)

Where can I go for the best and cheapest classic car insurance?

OK, now, make sure you know what the policy says. Most stated amount policies pay THE LESSER OF actual cash value, or stated value. And in order to get an AGREED VALUE clause, you need an appraisal. Its NOT how much it cost you to restore it, its a true appraisal.

Now, whos got the best? Its a tossup, between American Collectors and Haggarty Ins. They both do a GREAT classic car policy, but both require that there are no operators under 25, and that every household member has their OWN vehcile to drive, and, of course, that you keep this one in a locked garage, and put less than 2500 miles on it.

Do you have a collectors car? then it is best to buy insurance from a classic car insurance company. Classic cars are the ones tha tare at least 15 years old and have a value attached to them. Classic cars increase their value ans they age. They are usually very expensive when there were bought as new or there may be a limited number of those models made.

To be considered a classic car each state has its own regulations that must be met. Most of those guideliness and regulations are similar but there are always a few things that are unique in each state. Also colectible car clubs may evne have more regulations to meed as clubs may look for specific models of classic cars.

It is very important to have insuranc efor a classic car because it can be treated as an investement that will gain value over time. The most valuable collectible cars are the ones that have the original paint job, no rust and are in an excellent condition with low mileage.

Most insurance car insurance companies offer classic car automobile insurance as well as some type of specialized insurers. There are some additional options tha tyou can include in your cassic car insurance package like: reimbursement of personal effects, emergency towing, lockout, car show expenses, lost keys, roadside assistance and others.

One of the major issues with collectors vehicle is theft, you must have a stron anti theft policy, since having your classic car stolen can be a huge loss in assets. If your car is well insured, the insurance company may offer a reward for the recovery of the car. It is more cheaper for the insurance company to pay for a reward than to pay for the full value of the car.

Also insurance rates for collectors cars can be differentiated based on mileage. Many antique cars have low milage, because a collectors car is not the main form of transportation, but just for special occasions like wedding, etc. There is a higher risk of getting the car damaged if it is driven frequently and the value of the car depreciates.

However you could also just get classic car auto insurance just to cocver the cost of repair and any additional costs. This is taken based on teh value of the car and availability of the parts. Keep in mind that you driving history will also be factored in the insurance policy.
